Egypt Live: Secret Chambers revealed
Join archaeologist Dr. Zahi Hawass, head of Egpytian antiquities, and a team of engineers as they explore a mysterious blocking stone within the southern shaft of the Great Pyramid at Giza. Using a state-of-the-art robot, developed by iRobot in Boston, Massachusetts, the team hope to reveal one of the Pyramid’s last secrets.
Also, throughout the programme Dr Mark Lehner will help unravel some of the mysteries of how the pyramids were built – Who was the workforce? How did they live? And what benefits did they receive?
Finally, Dr Zahi Hawass will open Egypt’s oldest intact sarcophagus, believed to belong to a man called Nysu Wesretof, who may have governed the pyramid workers over 4,500 years ago.
